Expanded Recall: More Firms Pull Products After Reser's Fine Foods Recall

Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Gary W. Black is alerting Georgians to the recall of select lots of refrigerated products based on an earlier recall by Reser's Fine Foods. Specific information related to each of the three following recalls is listed below, as well as contact information for each of the recalls.

The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the frail and elderly, as well as in individuals with weakened immune systems. Healthy people may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infections can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

No illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers who purchased this product may take it back to the store of purchase for a refund or discard it. Georgia Department of Agricultureinspectors will be checking retail stores and food warehouses to make sure the recalled products are removed from sale.

The following products are subject to recall by Taylor Farms Tennessee, Inc., and Taylor Farms Maryland, Inc. These products were distributed in several states, including Georgia. Customers who purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should dispose of them immediately. The following products are subject to recall by BI-LO. These products were only sold at the store located at 500 Furys Ferry Road in Martinez, Ga. Customers are advised to dispose of the product and bring a receipt or product packaging label to the store to be issued a refund. Customers who purchased these products are advised to dispose of them immediately.
